2. Role Summary
We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Product team and help shape how millions of students and teachers experience iPrep. You will take product requirements from rough idea to polished, tested UI — designing for a genuinely diverse user base that spans smart classrooms in metro schools to low-bandwidth devices in rural India. This is a role for someone who wants to grow across the full arc of product design: understanding the user, shaping the flow, and getting the pixels right — not just executing screens from a spec.

3. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
  • Product Design Execution
    • Translate product requirements and rough concepts into polished, high-fidelity UI designs for iPrep across web, app, and device platforms.
    • Build and maintain consistent, reusable components within iPrep's design system.
    • Prototype key flows and interactions to pressure-test design decisions before handoff.
  • User Research & Discovery
    • Support user research — plan and conduct interviews and usability tests with teachers, students, and field staff to ground design decisions in real user needs.
    • Translate research insights into concrete design changes and document key findings for the wider team.
    • Contribute to personas and journey maps that reflect iPrep's varied user contexts — from urban smart classrooms to low-bandwidth, low-literacy rural settings.
  • Collaboration & Handoff
    • Work closely with the Principal, Product Design and cross-functional partners in product, engineering, and content to keep design intent intact through build.
    • Participate actively in design reviews and critiques, and incorporate feedback without losing sight of the user problem.
    • Prepare clear, implementation-ready specs and documentation for engineering handoff.
  • AI-Augmented Design Workflow
    • Use AI-powered design tools (Figma AI, and other emerging platforms) to speed up ideation, iteration, and production work.
    • Proactively pilot new AI-assisted workflows and share learnings back with the design team.

4. Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: 1–3 years in product design, UX design, or UI design, ideally within a digital product, SaaS, or EdTech environment.
  • Portfolio: Case studies that show your end-to-end process — problem framing, research input, iteration, and final high-fidelity output — not just polished final screens.
  • Tool Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Figma (components, auto layout, prototyping). Comfort with basic user research methods (interviews, usability testing).
  • Sector Context: Exposure to designing for low-bandwidth, bilingual, or varied-literacy user contexts is a strong advantage.
  • AI Fluency: You use AI tools as part of your daily design workflow, not as an occasional novelty.
  • Communication: Able to clearly articulate design rationale to non-designers and hold your own in a cross-functional review.

5. What Makes You a Great Fit?
You care about designing for real users who don't look like the users in most portfolios — students and teachers working with patchy internet, shared devices, and multiple languages. You're equally comfortable digging into a research conversation and polishing a Figma file, and you're looking to grow under close mentorship rather than work in isolation.

6. What We're Looking For — Values & Culture Fit
  • Integrity: Makes thoughtful, user-first decisions and takes ownership.
  • Impact: Creates meaningful experiences that drive user and business value.
  • Excellence: Sets high standards for design quality and user experience.
  • Collaboration: Influences and works effectively across cross-functional teams.

7. Why Join Us
We are on a mission to take the best of digital learning to every corner of rural Bharat. At iDream, you'll design for one of India's largest last-mile EdTech platforms, working closely with a Principal Product Design and a small, tight product design team where your decisions visibly shape how millions of students learn.
